What is agency?

Agency. Not just a building with agents in it. In real estate terms, agency refers to the relationship between a client and their agent. Seller agency refers to a contractual relationship between someone selling a property and the agent they choose to list it, who will be the seller's representative and advocate in the sale of the property. Buyer agency refers to the same relationship; one between a buyer of a property and their agent, who will advocate, protect and negotiate in the buying of property. In the State of Tennessee, prior to signing purchase contracts, state law requires all parties to identify themselves.
